Car parking revamp across Haringey
Following a review of car parking charges in Haringey, changes to pay and display charges are to be introduced on Monday (15 June).
The new system, which Haringey Council claim is being launched to ensure that parking prices and increments of time are consistent across the borough, is based on an hourly rate for low, medium and high usage areas. Parking time can be purchased in increments of 15 minutes, up to a maximum of two hours.
In some areas, parking may be allowed for longer than two hours, but this will clearly be displayed on the pay and display machine.
The new charges are as follows:
Tariff 1 High usage area £2.20 per hour
Tariff 2 Medium usage area £1.40 per hour
Tariff 3 Low usage area £1.00 per hour
Cabinet member for environment and conservation, Cllr Brian Haley said: “Our aim is to make the parking system simpler for residents, but we’re also aware that local businesses need a parking model that allows for greater turn over of parking spaces in very busy areas.
Some areas will not be affected by the changes, a full break down of the charges will be available on www.haringey.gov.uk/parking.
